Well this is it. The final stretch to the end of another semester. I enjoyed this one the most so far. Both of the professors I had this term were the best so far. They made learning fun, not being hard on you as much. Other than my vacation from hell, all has been good. I have a husband who loves me and supports me. My kids are all grown and in their own way, they have supported me too. I hope to see some of my classmates in future classes but if not, I wish them all luck in whatever they are faced with.

First let me say HAPPY EASTER to all. This has been what seems like a very short class this term. I liked the blog idea, but was disappointed that the only one that visited me was the teacher. So because of that I will not continue it after this class. I always had a hard time with APA format but this term made it a bit more clear for me. What they say is true...depends on the teacher. By that I mean if you get one that explains it well its easy to understand, if you get one that seems like they don't want to be bothered with your questions or explain exactly what you are doing wrong, it makes it hard to understand. I thank you Professor for making it all come together for me this term. I wish all well in their next terms and hope it gets easier from here on in. Good Luck to all!!

Finally home!! We were stranded in Arizona almost a week longer than we were suppose to be. A nice vacation turned out to be a nightmare. It was suppose to have been all expenses paid by the mother of the girl we moved down there, but she never came up with the money for us to leave on time. So my husband and I talked it over and we decided we would use our own money to get there and they would pay us back. BIG MISTAKE!!! Between gas, food and lodging it cost us about $600 to get there. Then they said they wouldn't have money till the 25th which meant we were stuck there till then. The first night we got in, she had a bed all set up for us to crash knowing how tired we would be. I sat on the bed, put my hand down and low and behold, put my hand in CAT PISS!! All over the mattress and blankets that were on the bed. Her and my husband stripped the bed, flipped the mattress over and there was even a BIGGER piss spot on the other side of it. She then proceeded to put blankets and sheets back on the bed and said goodnight. Didn't think twice about it. The next day, we were going to stay in a hotel, cause I refused to sleep like that, and when we went to get one of our suitcases(had dirty clothes in it anyway) one of the cats pissed all over that too! That was the last straw. The whole time we were there we stayed at motels/hotels, flipping from one to the other till about the last 4 days we stayed at the same one. Then she would complain that we weren't spending any time with her and she had been waiting 2 1/2 years for us to come down. Outside of sleeping there and when I had to be in class, we were there all the time. Came to the day we were set to leave and they only gave us $300. Not even enough to cover the gas for the trip home. If my husband ever speaks to them again, I am leaving his dumb butt and he can go back to Arizona and live with them in squalor!! I am just so angry I could spit fire right now.
Till next week.....

Well we made it to Arizona in one piece. It is really very nice here. Today we went to Las Vegas because we had to drop off the U-Haul trailer we brought down here. I made my husband take the Hoover Dam way back to where we are staying.Traffic was so backed up that I thought he was going to be mad at me, but he was OK with it. He even stopped at the overlook so I could take some really cools pics. I will figure out a way to post them on here when I get home. I am not looking forward to the trip home because there has been like a major snowstorm hitting all along the route home. Hopefully it will be all melted by the time we have to leave here. LOL. Well I have to get off here, time to eat and I am starving. I will probably gain about 20lbs from this trip. The fresh air has that effect on me, hunger and sleep!! Till next week, have a good one.

6th Week
Well here I am home still. We are leaving in the morning, just finished up with all of my assignments except answering my peers, hope to finish that up before we leave in the morning. I can't believe we are more than half way done with this term. It has been exciting, difficult at the same time. Mostly because this term is the first one where I had to have 2 different papers due in the final project. I am not fond of APA format, that's what usually bites me in the butt in the end. I hope my paper will be interesting enough, I know I found it very interesting to learn about. Makes you wonder how come it took this many years before anyone noticed it was a problem, not a small one, but a VERY large one. Its unfortunate that if something is not done to change it, we will continue to live shorter less productive lives. Well see you all next week!!

I am glad to find out that I didn't do as bad on Unit 4 quiz as I had thought I did. This class so far, has been a lot better than CompI. I have learned more from this class than that one. Enough of that.....it has been a crazy week. Trying to get homework all done, packing for my trip, and just trying to get everything together as a whole. Waiting for the money to come from our friend in Arizona so we can head out on Monday, hopefully early to beat the traffic. I will be taking lots of pictures along the way. Never been to any of the states we will be going through on our way there. Can't wait to see New Mexico, even though my husband says we will not be in that state all that long. You can't tell that I am excited can you? Like I stated in my previous blogs, its been 8 years since I have gone anywhere, and its been since 1989 that I have been on a long road trip. That trip was to Florida when my brother was getting married and I was about 6 mos pregnant at the time with my youngest and my son was 5 years old. That trip was a little disappointing because I was pregnant and uncomfortable for most of the trip down. Also when we went to Disney World I was limited to which rides I was allowed on....BUMMER!!! But we made the best of it and had a lot of fun anyway, thats what was important....
Well next blog from me I should be in Arizona by then(hopefully).

Wow we are almost half way through this class. I can't believe it goes by so quick! I just took the quiz for Unit 4 and I think I got at least 2 wrong (I hope that's all I got wrong). I hope I don't do a lot of damage to my grade after this. Will be hard to bring it back up. I just found out last night that I will be going on a trip in 2 weeks from today to Arizona. Can't wait!! My husband and I are moving a daughter of a friend from Wisconsin, back down to Arizona. I get to fly down w/her daughter and her 2 kids and my husband and her boyfriend (the daughter's) are driving down. It will give me an extra day or 2 w/o my hubby....LOL. Just glad we both have laptops to take with us so we can keep up on our classes while we are there. It will be interesting to say the least. Haven't been on a vacation since 2002 when I went to Las Vegas with a couple of friends, that was the last time I could afford a vacation. I then became a single parent and had no extra money to take a trip with. Now since I have been Unemployed for almost 2 years, I really haven't had the money to go anywhere. This will be a treat, especially since I don't have to pay for it, it's an all expense trip down and back. Don't you just LOVE it? Well that's it till next week. Hope all has a nice week and safe weekend!

Well this is the third week of this term. So far, no problems. I'm glad for that especially after having a hard term last one. Its starting to snow here again. Can't stand snow!! I just hope we don't get as much as they are calling for. My husband and I are suppose to be moving a friend's daughter from Wisconsin to Arizona.....can't wait! Warm weather and sunshine, what a change that will be. Plus this will be the first REAL vacation my husband and I have had since we have been together. The nice thing is is that it is being paid for by someone else, so its a FREE trip, all expenses paid. Gotta love it. I am looking forward to doing my paper. Like I had mentioned, my son started gaining weight once he started school full time, so around the age of 5-6 yrs of age. I thought because I had been overweight for most of my adult life that it was hereditary. During my research I have found out for the most part it's not. My son is 26 now so this was over 20 yrs ago when this was not well known or publicized like it is now. I am a firm believer that school lunches play a big part in the problem kids are facing now a days. My son was a home body when he was younger, but not in the way you would think. He read a lot of books when he was young. We did not have access to computers or computer games back then like they do now. Yes, he did watch a lot of TV, but there were not a lot of kids around in his age group so he did not go out and play a lot. He was, though, active in sports. He played baseball for about 4 years then he got into football in 5th grade, when they allowed them to play, all the way through till his Sophomore year of high school when he had to have knee surgery and the training was too rough on kids back then. Literally they were in training all through school, not just during football season. Made it tough to do your school work and keep up your grades so you could continue to play on the team. I am very proud of his accomplishments in H.S. He was in all honors classes and was able to get scholarships, not in sports but in Academics which is what schools should concentrate on, not sports.
Well I could go on, but I will save it for next week.
Bye till then

Week 2
Well we are starting a new week in College Comp. I am nervous about this class as I have stated before, I did not do all that well in College Comp 1. I am excited to read other Blog's from students in the class, it will be interesting to say the least!! After not being in a school situation in over 30yrs, it is not as bad as I thought it would be. The students are very helpful when you need it as well as, for the most part, the professors. I found the Writing Center's new way of evaluating papers was great last term, I just hope they implement it for this term. Instead of just sending you back a paper with corrections/explanations in the margins, they had a video feedback to your paper. You actually got to hear what your errors were instead of just read them. It made it easier to understand what you did wrong and how to correct it. Well good luck to all!

I know I am early for posting, but I just have to say that I hope I can do better this term with College Comp because last term I had a really tough time. My trouble is understanding the APA format, mostly for the reference page. If anyone can help me with that I would appreciate it. I understand a little bit better now why it is important to learn to write. In my field of Medical Transcription it will be useful in transcribing records for physicians and hospitals, because without knowing how to do it, I could not perform my job to the best of my ability.
